ClipCatch privacy policy
How the ClipCatch browser extension handles information. In short: it doesn’t collect any.
Who is responsible
ClipCatch is made by MotionAstra, a brand of Orcasoft Consultancy Services Pvt Ltd. Questions about this policy: support@motionastra.com.
What ClipCatch does not collect
ClipCatch has no account and no sign-in. It does not collect, store or send your personal information, browsing history, the videos you watch or download, or usage analytics. We do not sell or share data with anyone, because we do not receive any.
How it works on your device
On X, Instagram and Pinterest only, ClipCatch reads the video information those pages already load in your browser, to find downloadable versions of the video you hover over. Downloads, clipping and conversion happen inside your browser on your computer. Nothing is uploaded to MotionAstra or any other server.
What is stored, and where
Your preferences (default quality, clip format and frame rate) are saved with Chrome’s own extension storage. If Chrome sync is on, Chrome syncs them across your devices. While an export is running, temporary job details are kept in browser session storage and cleared when the browser closes.
Permissions ClipCatch asks for
Downloads: to save files to your Downloads folder. Storage: to remember your settings. Offscreen: to process clips in the background inside your browser. Site access to x.com, twitter.com, instagram.com, pinterest.com and the video servers those sites use (twimg.com, cdninstagram.com, fbcdn.net, pinimg.com): to show the menu on videos and fetch the video you choose. ClipCatch does not run on any other website.
Links to MotionAstra
The welcome page, the extension menu and the uninstall page link to motionastra.com. These links include campaign tags (for example utm_source=clipcatch) so we can see how many visits come from the extension. They do not identify you. When you visit motionastra.com, the website privacy policy applies.
Third-party platforms
Your use of X, Instagram and Pinterest is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Only download content you have the rights to use.
